It's been almost one and a half years since Ryo's death.
When you hear me say "I am getting used to a life without Ryo", you might think "Wow, so quick!". Well, it's more likely the feeling that I am always with Ryo in my heart that is growing in me.
In April 2011, shortly after the Great East Japan Earthquake, Ryo visited Ishinomaki city in Miyagi prefecture as a volunteer from Kobe city. There, he helped clean up the rubble from the Tsunami at S's family. And one year later, he visited there again to hand a picture of flowers blooming in the rubble. Even though it was a sudden visit, Mr and Mrs. S treated Ryo to dinner.
Ryo wrote a letter to Mr. and Mrs. S before he moved to NYC. Here is a part of his letter.

You are always very kind to us no matter how much you are in pain or disconsolate. I still remember clearly that I strongly felt we humans have strength to be kind to other people. And also, I should have the strength too.
This was a passage I accidentally found in his notebook which he was using to memorize English words. This passage shows Ryo's personality well.
Ryo, don't worry. Your heart lives in everyone's heart.
When I read this letter I could hear Ryo saying "Dad, Mom, listen to what you believe in!"
Thank you very much everyone for still thinking about Ryo and reading this blog.
I appreciate the writers as well.

It has been one and a half years since Ryo's death on the 21st this month.
I received a letter from Ryo's mother, and so wanted to share it with you all.
All pictures are from Ryo's camera, which he took in Ishinomaki city.
