Ryo Oyamada’s case has been slow and not much new information has been released after the accident. However, his pre-trial conference has started. His lawyer had two meetings with the representative of the NYPD and will meet with them one more time this year. The Oyamadas has received the result of the autopsy in August, shortly after the 6th month anniversary of Ryo’s death though the insurance company. The NYPD still has not brought any new information to the conference because “the case is still under the investigation”.
It has been slow, but it is progressing. Please don’t let this accident fade out form your memory. We need to keep claiming this injustice so the city of NY might finally realize that they need change to make the city safe for everyone.
I had a chance to talk to Erika Lefevre, the mother of Mathieu Lefevre, who was struck and killed by a truck in Brooklyn. She was still in sorrow after two years of losing him. Well, nothing might ever comfort her from losing her own son. This must be true for any parent. But she was also strong. She gave kind words and advice to Ryo’s family and encouraged them. She believes she needs to fight back to the great injustice which has been done to them, and that is what Mathieu would want her to do. The Oyamadas believe the same about Ryo.
The Lefevres live in Canada. They have made trips to New York many times after Mathieu’s death. Donation for their trips would be greatly appreciated. Please take a moment to read his case. http://mathieulefevre.org/
This website will keep post the updates about Ryo’s case as well as other similar injustice. Please spread word of this website and help us spread our mission.
